Getting your braces is an exciting time, but getting used to them can take a little extra work to ensure you are maintaining your healthy smile…
Brushing your teeth seems like a simple task and is probably something you learned to do at a very young age. However, when you get braces this simple task often becomes far more difficult. How do I get in between the brackets? Do I brush over the brackets? Here at Victoria Park Dental Specialists in Adelaide, we are determined to help make your orthodontic experience as smooth and simple as possible.
Victoria Park Dental Specialists’ tips
We like to make things as easy as possible for our patients so we thought we would include a couple of quick tips to get you started on your at-home care.
- Begin with the brackets closest to your gums and position the bristles facing upward towards the bracket, brush thoroughly
- Repeat this process for the tips of your teeth
- Brush the front of the brackets and all around (like you would before you had braces)
- Brush the lingual side of your teeth (inside teeth)
- Brush your tongue
